The Tri-Alliance of the American Society of Hand Therapists, the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and the American Hand Therapy Foundation have established a scholarship in recognition of Mary C. Kasch, FAOTA, OTR, CHT.
Mary Kasch was a founding member and president of ASHT, president and executive director of the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and staunch supporter of the fundraising efforts of the Foundation. Mary's exemplary career reflects the highest standards known in our profession. She was an outstanding therapist, role model, visionary leader and dear friend to so many. She helped chart a course for hand therapy that we all enjoy today.
Mary wanted a well-deserving occupational therapist or physical therapist to receive a finacial scholarship to assist in the process of becoming a certified hand therapist. This award is proudly established to honor her request and recognize her contributions.
The scholarship amount will be a total value equivalent to $1,500. The award candidate must meet HTCC's general examination eligibility requirements or be eligible to meet the certification requirements by the time the exam registration is due. The candidate must be planning on sitting for the November 2013 or May 2014 examinaiton.
The appllication for this award is open from January 1st to March 1st. The award recipent will be notified June 1st and will be announced to the general public at the ASHT Annual meeting in the fall.
